Gokarna: Russian woman living in a cave with small children in a dense forest rescued!

Gokarna (Uttara Kannada): A 40-year-old Russian woman living with her young children in a cave in the middle of the Gokarna forest in Uttara Kannada has been rescued by the Gokarna police who were patrolling.

Police patrolling the Ramatirtha forest in Gokarna in Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district rescued Mohi (40), her young children Preya (06) and Ama (4).

This woman, who had come to Goa from Russia, had come to Gokarna via Goa and lived with her children in a cave near Ramatirtha, a dense forest here. She used to keep a small Rudra idol there and spend her days performing pujas. A team led by CPI Sridhar was patrolling in this area when someone was living in the cave due to a landslide and rescued the foreign woman.

The police had a hard time convincing the woman to leave with her children as the place was not safe due to the possibility of landslides and the presence of wildlife and reptiles.

As per the woman's wishes, she was taken to an ashram in Kumta. The police, who reached the ashram, became suspicious and asked for her passport. After making several excuses, she said that she had lost it.

When the police searched the cave, they found her passport, and it was found that her visa had expired on April 17, 2017. For the safety of the woman and her children, the police have registered her at the Women's Reception Centre of the Women and Child Welfare Department.

The police have brought this to the notice of the FRRO in Bengaluru, who will arrange for her to be sent back to Russia with her children. She was found in the cave on July 9.

The Russian lover, who is very interested in spirituality, had gone to the cave alone with her children to be in nature. She lived in darkness with her young children in a cave on the collapsed Ramatirtha hill.
