Why the couple gains weight after marriage, ICMR explained the reason

Married couples weight gain: These days you must have seen that every fourth married couple is falling prey to obesity. Recently, ICMR’s study has come out that about 27.4% of married couples are such where both husband and wife are fat or overweight. At the same time, obesity has now become a big problem to our lifestyle, not just health but now. According to a study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), about 27.4% of married couples in India are where both husband and wife are fat or overweight. This research is based on data of more than 52,000 couples and tells how the habits of living together are increasing obesity.

The same habits, the same obesity?

Actually, there is a lifestyle behind it. According to ICMR expert, food, lack of physical activity, screen time and methods of stress, they all increase obesity. At the same time, these days people are living in nuclear families where there is no time to eat and drink and social rein is less, these habits flourish more rapidly.

Came in the study

The study revealed that this equality in urban couples was 38.4%, while in rural areas 22.1%. In the richest homes, this figure reached 47.6%, which shows that prosperity and obesity are increasing simultaneously.

Increased concern of youth

This rate of obesity in joints under 30 years of age is even more worrisome. Obesity in Kerala (42.8%) and Goa (37%) opens the way to obesity diabetes, heart disease and other serious diseases. Watching television, reading newspapers (which indicates dull lifestyle) and consumption of processed food, all these are the main reasons. This rate was found higher in nuclear families than joint families.
