Diwali is the festival of lights, which symbolizes happiness, prosperity and knowledge. On this day, lighting only one lamp is not enough. We need to light many lamps to spread the light of knowledge and dispel darkness.
On the day of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped who is the goddess of prosperity. Her hands are as soft as a lotus, that is, there is no hardness in them. When you meditate on Lakshmi ji, feel as if you have become like a blooming lotus. Happiness cannot be found without prosperity and prosperity is not possible without knowledge. Ganesha is considered the god of knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge and prosperity go together, so both Ganesha and Lakshmi are worshipped on the day of Diwali. If there is a lack of knowledge in life, then even the little prosperity that we have can lead us to troubles. When you have good thoughts and knowledge, everything else will come automatically.
When Lakshmi comes, she brings with her a sense of adventure. The very thought of getting wealth thrills people. She brings with her beauty and pleasant light like moonlight. Lakshmi ji loves cleanliness. When you are very clean, Lakshmi ji is happy with you and good luck and prosperity come in your life.
Dedicated devotion
Mata Lakshmi likes the dedicated devotion of devotees. There is a famous story related to this. It is said that when Adi Shankaracharya was just eight years old, he went to the house of a very poor woman to ask for alms. There was nothing in her kitchen except one gooseberry to give alms. She also put that one gooseberry in Shankaracharya's alms bowl. Shankaracharya was very moved to see that and he started praying to Mata Lakshmi for that woman. According to the story, Mata Lakshmi was very pleased with Shankaracharya's prayers and golden gooseberries started raining in that woman's house. This composition of Adi Shankaracharya is known as Kanakdhara Stotra.
When you respect wealth and are grateful for what you have, life becomes more prosperous. Often we think of Lakshmi as just wealth or ornaments, but it is not so; she is a divine power that pervades the entire creation. She has no form, yet she is in all forms. She is very compassionate and loving, who blesses every living being.
8 Forms of Goddess Lakshmi
It is mentioned in the Vedas that Lakshmi has eight forms, which are called Ashtalakshmi. The first form is Adilakshmi; 'What is our origin or where is the source of our life?' Very few people know about this knowledge. People spend their entire lives, but they do not know about life or death. By thinking about all these subjects, we are able to see life in its totality. By the grace of Adilakshmi, we get the knowledge of our births and rebirths and life becomes deeper.
Do these remedies on Govardhan Puja, you will get rid of health, wealth, family disputes!
Effect of lack of Dhanalakshmi
When we have money, social work is possible, but if there is lack of money, then many times we have to face problems. This happens due to lack of Dhanalakshmi. If money is available but there is lack of Dhanyalakshmi, then there is more problem. Like sometimes in many countries, in case of emergency, people there have money but they are not able to supply grains etc. as per the requirement. In such a situation, they have to take help from other countries.
There is another form of Mata Lakshmi - Santanlakshmi. If a couple does not have children, then they feel sad and many times the insolence of children also causes pain. This happens due to lack of Santanlakshmi. Even after having everything, if you are not getting success in any work, then it is the lack of Vijayalakshmi.
If there is no patience in life, then life becomes very difficult. Many people spend their entire life in fear. This is a sign of lack of patience. Similarly, sometimes we don't get what we want at the right time or we dream big but luck doesn't support us. This is lack of luck.
Who is Vidya Lakshmi?
Goddess Saraswati is sitting on a rock which is a symbol of stability of knowledge. She is Vidya Lakshmi. If someone's goal is only to study, then she is not Lakshmi, but after studying, when one uses that knowledge in life, then she is called Vidya Lakshmi.
Both devotion and knowledge are required to get satisfaction in life. We get knowledge and devotion only by meditating. Our intellect becomes sharp by practicing meditation and our consciousness develops. When our heart is soft, then Goddess Bhagwati resides there. Therefore, meditation is important. If we want to please Mother Lakshmi, then we should stay away from inertia. Also, one should remain engaged in sadhana, service and satsang.
