Delhi’s school football got new support from the return of Oriental Cup 2025

 New Delhi: An emerging school football tournament, a emerging school football tournament established by student-weekly Farid Bakshi, officially announced its third season after a press conference held at Eloft Hotel in Aerocity here today. According to a press release of the Oriental Cup, the tournament to be held from July 21 to July 29, 2025 will be held at the prestigious Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, which will participate in 36 teams from schools across Delhi, out of which 24 teams will be in boys (under-15) category and 12 teams will be in girls (under-19) category. This tournament will continue its mission to provide an inclusive and structured platform for competitive school football.

The 2025 version will be with a three -phase, which will start with the qualifier round, followed by the league phase and the final will conclude for both boys and girls classes. In collaboration with Chief Sponsor Oriental Structural Engineers Private Limited, Associate Partners Nivia Sports (Football Partner) and Ocean Beverages (Hydration Partner), Oriental Cup is continuously increasing as an important event in Delhi’s school sports calendar.

During the press conference, Executive Vice President of Oriental Structural Engineers Private Limited – Marketing, Gishnu Karthik Sreedharan said, “As a company that is committed not only to the infrastructure but also for the construction of strong communities, is proud to continue the support of Oriental Structural Engineers.”

He said, “We believe that sports play an important role in shaping the responsible, confident people and it is pleasant to see that young football players across Delhi are taking advantage of this opportunity.”

Two successful season of Oriental Cup has already arrived. Air Force School, Subroto Park and Apex School have won the boys’ category titles in 2023 and 2024 respectively, while Culture School has won both the previous seasons and maintained its dominance in the girls category.

Speaking in the program, co-founder Farid Bakshi emphasized the widespread objective of the tournament, saying, “Oriental Cup goes beyond the competition. Was.”

Speaking at the press conference, Rizwan-ul-Haq, the vice president of the Delhi Soccer Association, appreciated the growing influence of the tournament, saying, “Delhi Socker Association, three years ago, is pleased to appreciate the initiative by Farid Bakshi in starting this school-level football tournament three years ago.
